Organizing an AAG 2027 Paper Session: Dynamic Populations Across Space and Time

I am organizing a paper session for the AAG 2027 Annual Meeting in New York with Joe Tuccillo and Andrew Zimmer. We are looking for potential presenters.

Dynamic Populations Across Space and Time: Data, Methods, and Applications

The session focuses on how populations move and redistribute across different spatial and temporal scales, from daily mobility and commuting to migration and displacement. We are particularly interested in new data and methods for measuring, estimating, and modeling these dynamics.

Topics may include:

  • migration and population redistribution
  • short-term mobility and commuting
  • displacement
  • dynamic and gridded population modeling
  • population stocks and flows
  • spatial and temporal disaggregation
  • uncertainty and validation
  • climate exposure and vulnerability
  • accessibility and infrastructure
  • urban and regional planning

If your work fits broadly within these themes and you are interested in joining the session, please feel free to reach out to me.
